In the cold winter months, how can you operate and maintain your vehicle to extend the battery's lifespan? Let's take a look.

The battery is one of the most important core components of any new energy vehicle. Proper use and maintenance can significantly extend its service life.

Most of today's electric forklifts are equipped with water-cooled batteries, which do not require additional ventilation or heat dissipation. During winter, it’s a good idea to seal the battery compartment and add insulation to keep the battery warm. Think of it as giving your battery a little “winter coat,” just like we wear thermal underwear to stay warm during the cold season.

Besides insulation, it's also important to charge the battery in a warm environment whenever possible. Avoid charging immediately after long, cold outdoor operation—let the temperature of the battery stabilize first. In extremely low temperatures, charging efficiency drops, and improper charging may shorten battery life.

If your forklift will not be used for an extended period, store it in a dry and warm area, and keep the battery at around 50–70% charge. This helps prevent over-discharge and ensures the best performance when you use it again.

At LUYU Machinery, we always focus on reliability and user experience. Our electric forklifts are equipped with advanced water-cooling systems and temperature protection functions to help your equipment perform efficiently—no matter how cold the season gets.
